If it was me, and I had to download it again, I'd use a download manager.
If you DL it in Ubuntu, you can burn the ISO in 3 clicks.
My personal choice for Linux DL managers is Downloader for X.
All the bells & whistles and nice GUI.
(may be in the Ubuntu repo, don't know for sure, but it is available in a .deb)
For M$ I use Go!Zilla, but there are lots of free ones out there, just google it.

How can I prevent this from happening on my next download. I can not use a torrent source because my Isp blocks any and all torrents. It also monitors my downloads and limits the speed hence the two day download. Any ideas? You've been great so far.

Do you need any tips or tricks to get around you ISP problems? What have you tried and what torrent client are you using? Port Forwarding is KEY here!!!! And what port you use!

Hi BigdaddyX3 its Pieter. I was on Vista at that time using Bitcomet. I am in a rural area so rely on expensive satellite internet for hookup to the internet. I use Xplornet and they are very heavy handed in traffic shaping and blocking out active internet traffic which is what happens when you use use a torrent. Yes my router is configured properly it is a Dlink and I am using an odd numbered port #. Any ideas or suggestions would be oh so welcome.

Hello pieter, if you are in windows, LeadFingers's choice on a Download manager is good, I myself use "Free download Manager" which handles torrent files also. Have been using it for nearly two years now and have not one complaint about it. Mind you I am not endorsing it, just my preference. :|

Hello pieter - Are you using a high port #? like above 55000? It does sound like what they are doing is a real pi$$er!

I was on direcpc (satellite) some years back and only got 40 hours a month & was indeed expensive, allow me to break down, how I beat them, they hit me all the time for what they called "fair access policy", their service was set at 70kbps per pipe, I got around this with download accelerator and opened at least 10 pipes, I have seen as high as 1,200KB/ sec (1.2 megabytes not mega bit per sec, using this technique. after cracking open the pipes typically 15 minutes into it they would catch me & chop my bandwidth, I would flick back to dialup & wait an hour only to resume at that speed it does not take long. I know I have controlled Cab's computer though VNC and watched as he downloaded almost 4 GB (Ultimate Edition Gamers) in a half hour. When I was on satelite it was the fastest connection I had seen until I seen his. Satellite if it is still the same way, is faster then most cable minus sending.

Direcpc's backbown was through Hughes network, I see they offer 4 separate types. This has been many years ago, I had a tripple LMB 1 for tv and 2 for comps. It was the most expensive net I have ever had, I feel for you (I have had dual business class cable in the past & was cheaper), I cooked Cab in this dept ;) out going at least.

The software I used was called download accelerator pro. The shareware version I think at least at the time only allows 4 or 6 connections, the pro is 10 per download, this is where satellite shines. Sorry I could not be of more help.

This is a bit off the subject, but kinda on it. You know me I like to educate... Did you know *nix in general is the macdaddy for "load balancing" connections, I wish I ran nix back when I had dual cable. It has the ability to merge multiple connections into 1 connection in and out. Where's my wireless card, the neighbor is not using their connection... ;)

Having the connections as I might have... Your saying Linux can combine two pipes??? Like the old Shotgun deal using 2 - 56k modems? I could probably acquire another 10mb pipe.. Just thinking of hitting 20mb is a tad exciting... hmm Have to think on this deal. Just happen to have dual Gb nics on this beast as well.

First I want to thank you all for the quick and positive response. I have never been in a forum where help was so fast and useful. This has been my first complete immersion into Linux. Ultimate really rocks but I need a lot of education to fully appreciate it. Your help has given me a lot of confidence that I am not alone.
Sorry for calling you Bigdaddy3, DaddyX3.
I am not going to try to re-download Ultimate but do updates and tweaking to see if this resolves any glitches.
I will definitely use a download accelerator. Theeman I really am curious about those pipes. Question, are you talking about breaking a download into sections or are you saying you are combining two or more connections to a source?
I repeat this is really exciting switching Oses and it is definitely going a lot better then I expected.
