Help & support for Ultimate Edition 1.7

Simply amazing...

Postby TheeMahn » Sat Feb 02, 2008 8:05 pm

It is simply amazing almost no posts to many, many in short order... I did not realize I guess as others have seem fit to say, what a great job I have done. I would like to say thanks foremost to each and every user. Well fellas err ladies n gents; it just keeps getting better, I was recently informed, not that I have time for games. I must admit I love them, well welcome aboard WOW - World of warcraft and works off the rip, windows version and nix problems seem to vanish at each step. Eventually we won't care. All games for *nix period is what I seek.

Posted to gamers:

One of our mods Maddog, has sent me screenies of him running WOW with a default install of Ultimate Edition 1.7, out of the box good to go, he also informed me the same for other online gaming systems. I am a gamer when I would like to relax when time is there in the rare event. None the less have the screenies. Further shots to follow.

Sorry for the interruption in breaking it down. Time is not on my side ;)

Enjoy,

TheeMahn

I'm not sure I follow? It's a great day cuz we can play WoW? I mean that's cool and all, but it's a pretty old game now, and it's a linux-native game, so it doesn't indicate that the future's any brighter for gamers just yet.

Or like I said, am I missing something, some significance that's goin' over my head?

Hey... If the most popular mmorpg's run out of the box on a default install, the entire linux community should be made aware. But then, they all want to hear about debian vs ubuntu vs this vs that... And don't seem to be paying much attention to Ultimate Edition.

From the first time I laid eyes on Ultimate Edition I knew it was a visionary distro that was destined to become a major player in the distro wars. Since its first release, it's had more than fantastic eye candy, it's sooo complete.
So much so that the average windows user can install Ultimate Edition easier than their first windows install.
AND it just keeps getting better!!
Never mind the fact that it's free!
Never mind the fact that it has features offered in no other distro!
Never mind the fact that it's possible to completely install without use of the command line.
(something which should not be overlooked for converting the average windows user)
Even without all these features, it's arguably the best Linux distro to date!

Every day I am finding more Apps that work well with Wine.
1) kayak foundry
2) BearBoat
3) DelftShip
4) Oziexplorer
5) Cornice
6) Mapivi

(anymore the only time I fire up the windows box is to get something that's stored there)

AND now more an more games are working out of the box !

Yes you should be VERY proud!

Thank-you so much for bringing us Ultimate Edition

The only versions I've seen on private wow servers like splashgame.org has been the windows version. I haven't met anyone running the linux client yet.
