Hello, know you probably have done this, did you check the md5sum after the download? And did you verify the burn..mine went smooth except when I did run the live DVD I had a crash error show up which is normal and no reason for concern read here.. http://ultimateedition.info/Ultimate_Edition_1.7/ but anyways that did not affect the install. :| Will look back at your other posts to see if you have listed your system specs. ;)

Check on what Cowboy just said and as an added reminder - I had this same problem a few times under Ubuntu and found that the trouble was the disk... I needed to slow down the burning speed for the recorder. I now only use 4x for DVD's and 16x for CD's. Also, are you using DVD-RW media? If so you might want to burn to -R, after all, we can get DVD's for about .30 cent's or less now. :)

If, after all this, it still stops you should be able to bypass the timezone settings until after install. Or is this already after the install?

ok found out it was a bad download. then i downloaded again, this time its comfirmed to be a good one. burn went ok. insert disc everything goes smoothly until the dragon screen comes up. it loads then once its finished on my moniter it just says no signal, then it goes to standby mode, i turn it back on but it says the same thing. the green light on my optical drive thingy(the light that tells if its reading the disk) isnt even blinking

did you use any special boot options? acpi=off noapic nolapic? anything like that? is it usb? if so make sure you dont use the above options. i cant be certain exactly which one does it but i know one of them will make your mouse not work (if its usb). beyond that idk what could possibly cause that one.

open terminal then do the following

sudo gedit /etc/usplash.conf

change

1280
1024

to

1024
768

save it. then reboot. it should now work
