Edit: I will let all know that view this thread, shortly I will not be "around" to answer posts as I try diligently to do, I am buried as it sits (probably 3 to 4 thousand to view). I will be busy building Ultimate Edition 1.8, not that I have not done so already beta based on Hardy Heron, enough said...

Ultimate Edition 1.7 will most likely be released tomorrow to the public. Broadband to both forum users as well as the general web browsing public, I am here posting by my lonesome right now, but this tread will most likely be larger then that of 1.6's thread, mods and admins are downloading / installing it now, shortly you will be able to do the same. Download / install it you won't be sorry...

I am upgrading Ultimate Edition 1.7 to ultimate gamers. Have to say that you are doing some great work. Thanks!

I have one concern. As each package is finishing its download and install I am seeing this line in the terminal:

sed: couldn't flush stdout: Broken pipe

What does this mean, and how should I fix this?

Thanks for the help and the distro.

Just downloaded the torrent last night and I'd like to seed it now (assuming that's okay). I'll admit to being a bit-torrent n00b, however, and not being able to figure out HOW to seed the file... :(

Again, assuming it's okay to seed the file, could someone either give me some really simple instructions on how to seed a torrent or point me to some decent instructions, please?

@ TheeMahn: This is the disto that convinced me to boot Windows XP... TO THE CURB!! I'm moving into a new place this weekend and once I get my system set up in the new digs, I'm planning on doing a full-blown reformat and reinstall of Ultimate 1.7 -- sans WinXP.

Buh-bye Windows... I hardly knew ye.

Feel free to seed it I'm sure ccal would thank you. I must admit I do have dual boot on my PC, for gaming purposes, not that I have time probably haven't seen windows in a month or better. I am really glad you like it, alot of time went into making it Enjoy!!! ;) I personally have no clue how to set up torrent to seed, I am sure if you ask around in here someone will help you there are a bunch of nice users here that will take the shirt off their back to help one another.

Well, If you downloaded it from a torrent, the best thing you could do for your community of fellow down-loaders is to let your torrent browser/client remain on and it will seed by itself, typically we would like to see a ratio of 1.5 times. In other words if you download 1GiB file you should seed it long enough that your uploaded amount is 1.5GiB. If you just downloaded it from the link here in the forum (straight from ccal) I would have to ask what torrent client do you use? I know that uTorrent, Azereus and a few others make it fairly easy. Typically all you need to do is open your torrent client and go through your menu's till you find "create torrent" or "upload torrent file" something along those lines. Then you point to a file on your computer and it is ready for uploading. Next, you go to your favorite torrent site and find their link (usually on the home page) for torrenting a file. Its fairly straight forward. If you get lost I can try to help you out a little more, but my time and availability is shrinking as of lately ... sorry. Good luck! Don't be afraid to re-post! :D

Just downloaded and installed 1.7 - looks terrific and runs like a dream. Ultimate always works straight out of the box! It really is a superb distro and should persuade first timers that Linux can be very easy to use, particularly as most of the popular programmes are already installed.

Thanks for all your efforts and time to Theemann and others who help to put the show on the road every time.

Keep up the good work!!
