Moving the mouse wont do it. the power saving software in the bios and the one built into the Linux fight each other, it is a common problem with laptops. To be safe just for now turn it off as much as you can in the bios and make sure your using the power cord and not battery when installing.

I Install the OS not in Battery Mode & The Function in the Bios is Disabled.
Its Only 1 Function in the Bios for Battery Save Mode.

When first starting the Live DVD
Add noacpi to the boot options... this will disable the Power Management software
if it loads completely
Then hit the install button
