Some questions:
1. Is it OK to enable the medibuntu repository?
2. I like KDE. Can I add either or both the KDE-core or Kubuntu packages safely ? Is there a repo for KDE itself, I may want to try the KDE 4 packages even though they are still being sorted out.
3. Any safe tweaks specific to dual or quad core 64 bit CPUs that make further speed improvements ?
Thanks,
B.
1. Sure
2. Sure but be ready to re-install, if you drop KDE4 on it. Their repo "deb
http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-members-kde4/ubuntu gutsy main", please be aware of the many, many
problems, I am sure that is the tip of the iceburg... I did not want to even release it to be honest.
3. I have found many that make it swift, I just have not found the one that borks my shut down process and makes it hang, it eventually does come up but, as impatient as I am... hit ctrl-alt-backspace & reboot that way. The tweaking guide is still your friend, but not w/o woes.
