Thanks for the welcome 2hot6ft2. I just updated to 2.7 32 bit on my ancient Gateway 7320GZ laptop. You are right, I just need to get a feel for the Ultimate Edition site - and this is my first ever forum membership so even a simple post can be a challenge. I was actually trying to post for TheeMahn where he states that the theme was not set in stone for 2.8 so the Electric Blue is quite a contrast compared to the current 2.6 / 2.7 which is awesome.

First thing, Welcome to Ultimate Edition and Welcome to the forums!! :)

The short answer to your question is no. :(

Because TheeMahn modifies the basic Ubuntu so extensively - to correct "problems" with the Ubuntu release on which each version of Ultimate Edition is built and to include all those programs/applications/extras - it does not allow for an "in-place" Upgrade from one version to another.

It is always best to make a "Clean Install" of any different version of Ultimate Edition than the one you're currently running. It is pretty easy to backup the contents of your /home/your-username directory, and to save the Synaptic Markings (the currently installed programs, utilities, extras, etc) to some other drive or external device such as an external drive or even a USB Memory Stick/Pendrive/Thumbdrive, and the import the Synaptic Markings into your new install and Apply and you will have all the previously installed "stuff" you had in the previous version you were running. Then just copy the files you want to keep from your backup of /home/your-username directory to your new home directory. That should leave you with pretty much the same files and installed "stuff" you had in the previous version.
When you are ready install a different or newer version and would like some assistance or guidance, just Post your request for assistance to the Ultimate Edition forums, and you'll get all the assistance and guidance you want or need. 8-)

project1017,
You "wish" is TheeMahn's "command" - the "Right-click" Scripts menu is indeed included with the current Beta of Ultimate Edition 2.8 x86, and I am sure it will be in the x64 version also. Thanks for all the praise! TheeMahn strives to make each new release of Ultimate Edition as error free as is possible, and his success rate is off the chart!! ;) 8-)

I am the kinda guy that pushes until the OS hangs. I would love to see some form of ctrl-alt-delete in Ultimate!
