Even if debian is very stable it cannot cope with the latest hardware.
You need ubuntu to keep up with the pace..! ;)

Ubuntu is mainly based on Debian testing. Not sure what better support you mean? Debian supports more hardware architectures than Ubuntu. Has more install options including a custom businesscard iso that will do a machine specific, repo selection install. (nobody beats that) Especially when added repo's like multimedia and liquorix to name a few. Check out the my debian sources.list. Graphics drivers are better installed manually from the manufactures drivers anyways. Plus everything in Ubuntu is more than a few months behind than it is in testing and even more on sid. Plus it's a kick a$$ server too...

I've preached to make the jump to Debian Sid for a long time. The guys at Siduction have gone a long way and have some interesting repos like "KDE Next" from Santa and "Experimental" from Towo that have the latest and most cutting and bleeding edge. Even a Gnome 3 based distro... interesting HUH!!!
Siduction Gnulinux; Kernel~3.2-10.towo.1-siduction-amd64 x86_64U~Quad core AMD Phenom II X4 955 (-MCP-) clocked at Min:800.000Mhz Max:3200.000Mhz ; Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1 TB; ATI Radeon HD 4850 Graphics

Running Siduction Paint it Black X-Mas w/KDE 4.10.3

Still at Gnome 3.4..which is fine..because it just keeps getting worse, 3.8 is trash

And now, the completely true facts, as told by an anonymous man hiding behind a screen name:

I think gtk2 is pretty much a dead end.
Better hardware compatibility exists with newer standards.
