Unable to view Windows share

I'm new to Ultimate Edition and must say that I enjoy it quite a bit. I have used Linux Mint in the past but like Ultimate Edition so much better. The only problem I have is that I can't browse my windows network and as such am unable to access any shared folders or my printer.

I searched through the forums but was unable to figure out how to access my windows shares and printer.

I'd appreciate any help.

Thanks,

T.

If your drives and printers are set to sharing in windows it should automatically show up in nautilus. If not then connect to server and enter IP address and port number and you will need samba client. Install it by....

Install samba client for autodetection...
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install smbclient

restart your network or reboot your system then go to places ---> network ... it will show you the workgroups available.
