check with:

sudo lshw -C disk


Did you compile the kernel? Pretty much a hit or miss situation.

Try booting to your old kernel and see if it still works.

You have an 80gb/250gb hdd's and one 4 gb usb disk.
Dvd drive is not detected.
Boot into the old kernel and check whether its detected.
