Accidentally switched off login in screen on boot up [solved

Postby bunker85 » Thu Dec 27, 2012 8:06 am

Hi Buds,
Hope you all had a wonderful holiday perod. I do not know how I accomplished this, but I seemed to have switched off the Require password at login screen. This is the one that gave me all the options to use a different DE at login time. Can you please tell me how to re-activate this option please. I have tried Applications/System Tools/Administration/Users and Groups/ and enable it there, but whether the option is switched on or off, it seems to make no difference.

Have you tried system settings/user accounts? Not real positive what desktop you are on, but if it is Gnome, system settings is located directly under your name on the right side of the screen. Once you open system settings is the last option to the left when you scroll to the bottom. Am hoping this helps and welcome aboard! Ultimate is the best LInux distro have ever been on. If this is not the solution, please let us know and we will find a solution! Am certain as there are others here that far exceed my knowledge and are the best the net has to offer!

Thank you BBOSAK2143..
That worked. Another fix to make an entry in my Linux 'How To' notebook. I've been using Ultimate since 2009, and I registered here in 2010. It is without question the BEST os out there at the moment. Leaves everything else looking amatuer. Also it has the friendliest forum, with no RTFM comments to be seen anywhere. Again thankyou for your assistance. Have a great new year..

Kevin

P.S.
Thanks also to pch.shot. This worked. It will also make an appearance in my little black book.. You guys are the best.
