I learn lots by reading your posts....very intuitive!

I used cairo-dock ........then swithched to docky for 3 years ..........and now im using awn..
All three have weather indicators

If you are using gnome-classic(at last!!) .....first shut off compiz....use metacity....compositing will shut off....now press alt+right click mouse---on your gnome-panel....click add-to-panel...........there you go!
You can add applications, weather etc.

Absolutely brilliant Pam!!!!! Searched high and low for information on that one really appreciate that one! Not sure what will happen but added it and hoping after reboot will work better! Well, I do feel pretty silly now!!! Thanks big time! So far won't let me add preferences but least is a real great start!!!! Can't thank enough on that one! Preferences can be changed in the key values through gconf-editor as I l stated previously. Please let us know if that does not work for you BBOSAK2143...

My mistake again! Got so used to all these weather apps wanting zip code, that one wants name! Put it in and is actually better than was trying for in the first place!!!! Little addition of the radar is kind of nice!!!! Thanks again, absolutely love it and sure saves time!!!! Have a strange one on the flash drive. I did my little tricks, seems like is on the 3.7 by its actions but sysinfo and terminal refuse to admit it! Of course most references such as boot and grub only have the 3.7 in it. So is confusing why it does not list via sysinfo and uname -r in terminal. Am sure there was a changeover as Chromium made me re-enter information which is usually lost on a change! All 3.2 images have been deleted! Did have to go through the flash drive menu(Unetbootin) to check for defects as at first refused to boot past login screen! Now is coming up fine, but just won't admit what is running it! The way things are opening and the fact was on compiz and taskbars appeared in the same fashion as 3.7 leads me to believe, I have succeeded! Just wish the computer would admit it!!!! Also if you know where I can download Startup Applications would be great!!!! Messing with that Nooblabs site lost it on the new gnome tweak tool install!!!! If I would have known about how simple was to add that weather one, would have never went through the hassle with Nooblabs! As have stated, never liked all those Gnome extensions were kind of silly in some ways, the weather was the only as is great to get heads up! Kind of in the tornado territory here in TN!!!! Let's still consider this flash drive in beta til do some more testing and adjustments. If I get full success will post! Here's a pic of the boot folder:

Not sure what you mean? It may be hidden, but are you saying it's not in System>Preferences>Startup applications? Can you verify that Services and Users and Groups is not in System>Administration location also? You can use the same method as pam stated except alt+right click mouse---on your Applications menu and select the edit menu, and navigate to the location as stated above to verify that the menu item is not unchecked. If none are there you can install gnome-system-tools and gnome-session-properties from synaptic...

Users and groups was still there, just Startup Applications missing! Same thing like when I loaded the ATI drivers on the 3.2 kernel wiped Advanced Settings out of the menu! This time tweak tools did the same for Startup Applications. Will try the right click bit soon! Looks like Zevon is a bust on this ThinkPad. Just won't run DVD's to boot off of! Too old! Nothing else I have here seems to want to work either! Guess am stuck on XP til I get a cd Linux! Well thanks for the info will either try the right click or dl a new one!

Im not sure if this is any help.. but i had an Emachine with AMD 64 3200 with onboard x1200 with a PCIe HD3450(dead now), for some reason i would get all kinds of odd errors tring to get it to load/run on the HD3450 when i removed the card everything worked fine. i was never able to get the drivers installed right to get the high performance option with the HD3450 causeing the CPU to Max out. so my suggestion would be if you have another vdo(video) card and see if that fixes the odd errors your geting. Just a thought hope it helps..

Thanks Micro!!!! Works perfect will use that, it is all I need! Just going to get my startup sound going sometime soon. Still on this USB deal! Blew it last night, went the wrong way! Will redo and see where it goes. I did copy the error message on install of kernel in there, so might just be able to get that not to happen(dl for totem!). Had it down to about 6 processes, was loading quicker, but in an effort to make sure it was using the 3.7kernel, I made a poor judgement and wound up killing it! Am hoping within a few hours to be back right before that point and with less errors! I believe getting it to bare minimum on the taskbar also helps. If I succeed this time will post step by step! I know there are people out there that want to bring Ultimate with them and want it running close to what it does on their own machine! 3.7 kernel and up are really focusing on the amount of memory that is used! It is being lowered significantly, I have read!!! This means it is quite possible to have a response similar to your own computer on the usb drive! At present there is not much to decrease boot time, but by the time the desktop comes into play, there is not much of a lag at all when initiating a program! Can't think of the user name posted above Micro, but my video is inboard. No money to buy another one either. Also 3.7 kernel uses drivers differently and I can't install fglrx since it already is installed or video drivers likewise. It was a foolish effort on my part installing the extensions(Gnome Nooblabs)! Have to learn somewhere and from my mistakes I sure do!!! Thanks again Micro, I just don't know every command and really seem to louse up the easy ones!!!! Just did it before! Saving up a lot of text files with commands, so maybe won't forget them so bad!!!! Yes I even have a copy of commands from a post Blackwolf made some time ago! Very grateful for things like that as are many commands!!!!
