Speed Issues?

I used to run 2.9, when 3.2 came out I installed it and started running it. .32 was running slow on my system. I tried to make some adjustments that didn't work, got frustrated and went back to crunchbang. I have a HP Slimline s5220y with a Intel dual-core 2.6 GHZ processor.
With the specs on my machine, should I see slowdowns or lags from 3.5? When I would click on anything on the desktop or in the drop down menu I would have to wait. I would hate to reformat my computer and it happens again. Thanks

2.9 my favorite Ultimate Edition. You do realize that Crunchbang and openbox is far less resource intensive (no compiz no effects) and cannot even be compared to a full blown desktop version of any Ultimate Edition distro. So you definately will notice a speed difference. Best bet would be to try the XFCE desktop on Ultimate Edition 3.5.

Lubuntu and openbox are also optional desktop's on Ultimate Edition 3.5. Best of all worlds :D
