To answer your questions. Configure checks dependencies about the machine. Make compiles the code and creates executables. It copies files to certain OS specific directories as well as whatever directories the software you are installing requires...

Am hoping this helps as have added the signature. I know ATI Radeon 3000 is on the losing end these days, but for inboard does work well for what I am using it for. Am not a huge gamer and never was. Might do a racing game or play pinball or lately ole crazy bomber! Spend about 15 to 20 minutes get bored of it and pursue technology! Love learning all this stuff feels very very rewarding! Haven't had all the time to read the specs on the kernel so am hoping you know if is a waste of time for me to pursue or if I have a chance once I reload? Did pass Networking but honestly am dreading another semester of it! Wish I could trade C+ for it! Programming is where my heart lies, even if someday can help someone to achieve a success will be awesome! Made a copy of Ultimate for another student at Columbia State where I go. He is taking Linux this next semester and told him Ultimate would be the greatest example of the many things Linux has to offer. The desktops, applications, effects, etc! Will give him a great edge as always say Ultimate is tops and the best! I also suggested Ultimate to another student in my Computer Science class that is currently using Mint. When he talked about running virtualbox on the Cinnamon desktop told him of the acceleration being so bad cursor will move slow and be jittery! Ultimate or KDE and Gnome bearing systems don't do that! Any way am looking forward to hearing opinion about pursuing this kernel change! Is one exciting deal for me and now have the time!!!!!

Pre-assembled!!! Yeah will do and big thanks. Think I will get to the compiling things this next week, have a bit to learn on it! Will probably mess with some of that stuff in Virtualbox as not to have to reload again!!!! With this deb might just be able to get away with not having to do a fresh install and enjoy the benefits! As have said sometime is very confusing putting something together in Linux since most files are told to look for new ones! Can be a problem when there is a version change in a compiler am figuring as stated a few posts ago!!! Oh well looks like have errors again! Seen this error a few times already! Just can't make these modules:
Consult /var/lib/dkms/rr64x/1.0/build/make.log for more information.
Consult /var/lib/dkms/bcmwl/5.100.82.38+bdcom/build/make.log for more information.
Am thinking clean install! What do you think??? Please let me know and thanks very much for that link is greatly appreciated is a quicker install!!!!! Don't mind the time when is in VBOX on using system is a little harder to take some times!

that is a high poing rocket raid and broadcom wireless drivers.....do you use these devices ...........if not just ignore them .........it will further show you ..update-initramfs processed at the end.

My recommendation : do a clean install

At this point of time dont try to make or repair anything ........do that when you have spare time or when you have enough confiedence to know what the output means ......as its a slow process to learn..

Sorry have to stop jumping the gun!!!! Am writing from the 3.7 kernel trying to install the fglrx driver as am typing this. When I went into graphic thing said I would be running at low graphics. Says the regular ATI drivers are in there and is listed in menu. Everything looks perfect but have to take the word of the warning figuring and knowing the importance of the fglrx driver! Guess Carl9170 did make the move with the kernel also as am connected! Think some drivers that don't need anyway didn't assemble. Don't have any realtek stuff so should be good! Wow is awesome to move up! Should have known 7 always been a luckier number for me!!! Can't thank you enough Micro saves me a lot of time!!!! Thought I was going to have to burn some things move stuff to flashdrives, now is there and have you to thank and of course Linus! Hope he never stops is great to see such enthusiasm and progression! Is strange as display looks as always but am sure would crash and burn if I hit compiz before fglrx is installed. That bugger is heavy and takes time to install, even longer than this 3.7 kernel which has to be the quickest method of all! Only took about 5 minutes! Other processes took no less than a half hour, so is quite amazing and spectacular!!! Absolutely love it! Thanks, Thanks, Thanks and double it!!!!!

Maybe will still have to do a clean install if can't get compiz to cooperate with the fglrx. I can use virtualbox no problem but compiz is dust and kind of like that! When I tried to reinstall fglrx through additional drivers fails, when I try to reinstall 12.10 from ATI and install claims it is not for my integrated board. Is a weird one maybe is due to not clean install or due to not enough support, this point am unsure. Have no backsplash on boot but goes to the screen visually still looks fine and is as I say able to handle virtualbox? So yes am confused. Any ideas? Reload, get this or that driver? Least I know will make it, but will I end up better off, if is fresh install or not? Forgot to mention have used 12.10 from ATI since I started using Linux so know it is good, unless this kernel lost full support for it? Thanks for all the help and continued. Am fairly swift but not a genius at this, especially since is the first time. Is still very exciting though! I remember using a 2.2 kernel back in about May and now am at this point! Wow! Am feeling a bit like Buck Rogers here!

lol. Np, but don't thank me, thank tanmay.01. It's unfortunate your troubles with liquorix. As it only takes a couple minutes on debian sid, but thats what it was built for. Glad to hear some more progress. ..
