hello i downloaded and installed 3.5 with 64 bit but i messed up some where and tried to re-install but could not as it took forever and would not install,i installed crunchbang so i could use the net,i did a new download of 3.5 and burnt it to a dvd,but when i try to install it to my Acer Aspire 5536 laptop it just opens crunchbang,i have got a dvd of u/e 3.2 is there a way of installing that to the laptop and upgrading to 3.5 please ?

If you upgrade from 3.2 you most likely will end up with Ubuntu staring back at you. I've only been able to do upgrades with the (Not So Ultimate) Ultimate Edition 2.8 Lite which more or less becomes Lubuntu 12.04 LTS.

Did you check the MD5 sum? I'm trying to find it, It seems I have every single one but 3.5 but I will locate shortly.

Personally, I have horrible horrible luck with straight downloads, I am not sure of the validity of this torrent but I will find out soon.

I hope it works:) Personally, I love the older versions more for some reason but I always seem to break them. I brought up the torrent because I generally do have bad luck with downloads and I am thirty minutes away from making another attempt with 2.6.6.. I have no clue how you peformed an install and still have Crunchbang and am curious as well about how you had the install done (replace everything, install alongside, manual). You may also want to verify the data after burning and of course slowest speed is key. Also if you are burning with laptop you may want to find another burner. Freakin Lasers take power and make heat.

3.5 all installed ok,i used the entire disk,i was using Crunchbang but i could not understand a lot of what was going on.
