I'm not going to lie but 3.5 has just made up for every other bug in its default environment as not having been ran in KDE. I ended up just creating my own environment from scratch off Ubuntu 11.04 with Gnome3 and have had issues after re-scripting some of the theme packages. I had also updated to 11.10 but the environment became non-functional. KDE provides for so much customization and so far seems to be stable as long as you don't modify the repositories too much, this one actually has alot of environments that you can run but the only stable one appears to be KDE based on its targeted environment. I've been using Ultimate Edition since I think version 2.2, TheeMan started a revolution
Ultimate Edition 3.5 x64
16 GB RAM @ 1666
AMD 8-Core Unlocked Black Edition @ 3.9 GHz
1.5 TB of space specifically partitioned out
Nvidia 2 GB DDR3, 21' Monitor and HDMI Projector
4 distinct customized KDE virtual desktops and various other VM's
