Installing Ultimate Edition 3.4 problems[SOLVED]

I have a new Dell Studio 9100 with windows 7 on it and I just burned the ISO of Ultimate Edition 3.4. Well for some reason I can`t boot from the disk and WUBI won`t work when I try to run it from windows. Is there some reason why it is doing this? I have burned many distros and they do boot just fine. What`s up with this distro? If you need more information, please let me now- I would love to install this!

check dvd ..it might be corrupted.
burn another one and try.

I did download Ultimate Edition 3.5 and successfully installed the OS. I must say 3.5 is an excellent OS! I am just starting to customize it, but before I do, I would like to ask a question: I have a NVIDA GeFoce 450 GTS video card and I would like to install the NVIDA drivers to take advantage of this video card. Since 3.5 is a new release, would it be wise to do this? And are the Xdrivers installed with the system satisfactory enough? I am no a gamer but I do graphics design at work. Also What would be the correct procedure to install the drivers. Thanks guys, you all have been a tremendous help!

downloading and installing the drivers from nvidia's site is higly recommended BUT....

But before you do anything i highly recommend you to install the liquorix kernel, First:
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=8735

Once you have it installed i then suggest to install the nvidia drivers next to see magic.

My machine still has the same kernal and does operate, but to me it looks like the pakages for the headers couldn`t be found. Is there a different place where I can find these headers?

If you have entered the commands correctly and installed the keyring
run this command:

Code: Select all: apt-cache search liquorix

The above commands will show you a list of available kernels...........copy and paste the amd64 bit one if you are using a 64bit OS...
IF the above command does not show anything then REBOOT your system and check again .............it should be there.

I did run
apt-cache search liquorix
and it listed the headers as: linux-headers-3.6.0-7.dmz.1-liquorix-amd64
and the image as: linux-image-3.6.0-7.dmz.1-liquorix-amd64

Now in that veiw topic viewtopic.php?f=7&t=8735 he has the headers and image listed as inux-headers-3.6.0-6.dmz.1-liquorix-amd64, and linux-image-3.6.0-6.dmz.1-liquorix-amd64!!

After I ran that search, I just changed a couple of numbers then reran the final command. The kernal change was successful, although there were a few warning messages. I restarted the computer and now my sytem, and so far, seems ro run ok. But it might be a few more days of tinkering before I do iron out any other issues. But next, I am going to try to install those NVIDIA drivers..... :geek:

Well, darn. I tried to install NVIDA drivers using the "Install Missing drivers" program and when I went to restart the computer, now all get when it boots up is a command line. I`ve used this program in the past and never had this issue. Any ideas how I can get my desktop back?

Sorry for all this trouble, but I have only been using Linux distros for only six months and I still am a newbie. Only this time I would like to save customizing the desktop until I have the real important work done!
