i would like to get some advice on what version to choose

atm i run win 7 build 7100RC but not satis. with it

i want to switch to Ultimate Edition gamers edition 2.4

i play a lot of games original only Directx 8, 9, 10 based

can i install and play all these games in Ultimate Edition gamers 2.4?

does it support games for windows live ?

to play GTA IV bioschock that depend on the windows live thing to work properly

sorry for being a noob at this but i became a believer in Ultimate Edition and want to get rid of windows completly

does the gamers edition support my pinacle pctv 110i ? (tv tuner card)

Hello Ratzkabatz ! And welcome !! Not being much of a gamer myself, I do have friends of mine that just rave over the 2.4 gamers with "play on linux" installed ! Also Urban Terror ! I know that being new you will have to do some home work ! but all in all once you get used to the "linux speak" you will find that it is not as alien as it seems at first ! Give yourself some time to adjust and learn, and you will be an Ol'pro before you know it !! I am sure you will get better, More substantial answers from the more than qualified "Linux gamers" here ! They are the best of the best ! once again welcome and may you have great luck with your new endeavor !!! Great to have you here !!!

Hey Ratzkabatz nice Avi ! but Needs to be a little smaller, Try this out !

Keep M$ to play M$ games,and boot Ultimate Edition,or another nix distro to do everything else....Thats what I do.

Looks like your tuner card works with nix.Might need a little work tho.The best thing to do is run the live disk,and use tvtime to see if its recognized.If it is your good to go.If not all might not be lost.Let us know,and we will do our best to get you watching t.v. in Ultimate Edition

tryed tv time as you say Cell but it doesnt start up anny thing
maybe only when i install the whole os

the idea is this
1 Ubuntu UE2.5 as main OS
2 install virtualbox
3 install win xp in the box
does that work?
can i install the games within the virtualbox??
so i won't have to leave the Ultimate experience of Ultimate Edition 2.5
and still be able to run the windows games
i hate rebooting you know

Could be after an install you need the t.v. drivers....well see.keep us updated.

using the ultimate edition 2.9 now

the tv card in TVTime works but i get no sound on the on board hd audio
is there a solution for that?

otherwise where can i find the setup for my tv card in MythTV?
cant watch TV in it
asks to run tv setup

hope to get an answer
