That is a combination of multiple objects and I shall drop a shot so there is no confusion...You probably do not see a mass change because first of all you run Ultimate Edition, which has no shortage of eyecandy, run it on hardy.

<scratching head>

Okay, I follow most of that...

I guess I was confusing a complete "theme package" with what I would call a "theme element"... I'll poke around now that I have a little better understanding of what I'm looking at.

I don't want to make the same question that has been already asked, but I need help too understanding how can I reveal the great potential that this themes pack has.
I went into GDM logins and I can see an empty list, I've got into artwork and the splash list is empty.
The cursors themes are a lot more, but I can't seem to be able to activate them, I liked the 1.8 set and I can't find it here now.
I know that everything is somewhere, even if it doesn't appear in the regular lists, but a lot of people don't know where to find what.
Perhaps somebody can write a little "Howto enjoy thee mahn's theme pack"
TIA
Ziv

You needn't have gone to all that trouble you know. It's not as if I didn't take you at your word. I'm still figuring out all this stuff. It's still a little amazing to me how configurable everything is.

Well, after playing around for a while till late night hours, I've found what was obviously under my nose.
I was expecting to see a lot of more fully featured themes, and I didn't see them, but just by following Thee Mahn's example of choosing Colorbit theme and then applying the wallpaper I've found the tons of other customizable options inside !!!
So for those like me that can't find what has been installed, just go to the Appearance menu, click on a theme, then click "Customize", from there, sky is the limit! When you're done customizing your theme, which will be now named "custom" you can save it to whatever name you want.
Wallpapers: If you want them to appear in the list, you just click the "Add" button, browse to the "/usr/share/backgrounds" then select the whole 54 and "Add".

Silly me for not finding this before and bothering Thee Mahn with a new fresh midnight hardy installation...

Anyway, I liked the Colorbits changing backgrounds but all the rest of my theme is build up from the whole "Ultimate 6" set.
Thanks Thee Mahn!!

Ahhhh HA!!! So I wasn't the only one confused by this! Nooooooooow the truth comes out!

My only problem now is the overwhelming, granular, nature of the customization options. I'm not one of you artistic types and all these configuration options kinda makes my head swim. I'm gonna need an Interior Decorator to come over and configure my PC...

Hi

I have a question,

If I download the theme pack from the forums, will it work on a alpha version of Ubuntu 8.10?

Thanks
