I recently upgraded from iPhone to a Galaxy s3, thinking it would be an easy transition since I've been slowly transitioning from windows to Linux. At this point I've almost no reason to switch back to my Windows partition except now Android uses an MTM connection thingy, and i have no idea how to make it work. I've scoured the web looking for answers, and can only find a few sites of which none help. i installed Gmpt, and several other mtp software packages, but none of them work. Its really ticking me off because I switched to Android specifically to avoid Windows... Anyway, it seems Ubuntu 12.04 cannot connect to Android at this time, and was wondering if any of my fellow Ultimate Edition users has any information.
Yes, ive tried every suggestion available on the first 3 pages of the followig search engins, following the instructions to a "T".
