I have installed ultimate 3.2 64bit, was running 2.9 64bit no problem. Did a clean install with 3.2 and now have no wifi. I have a bcm43224 wifi card the install driver auto activated the proprietary driver however still no wifi iwconfig shows

lo no wireless extensions.

eth0 no wireless extensions.

I need the wifi I don't have a cable connection where I live. ps if it matters the computer is a dell studio xps with 64bit dual core with 4 gig ram and 500 gig hard drive dual booting with windows7 home prem.

PLEASE HELP!!!

thank you unfortunatly the the problem with mine does seem to be different. it's acting like I have the power button for the wifi set to off, it's not because the blutooth runs on the same button and it's on, the network manager can't even read a wireless singal and I know there are several wifi routers within range.

Sorry it took so long to get back with you as I said I only have wireless where I live (no cable to connect to with the troubled comp.) had to use another comp. download lshw-gtk.deb with synaptic move it over to the dell then run the other comands as well copy/past to a file then copy/paste to here.
By the way lspci | grep Wireless just gave me a prompt on the next line nothing else. hope this info will help you.
